The European Polymer Federation (EPF), in collaboration with the Italian Association of Macromolecular Science and Technology (AIM), is honored and pleased to announce the organization of the EUropean POlymer Conference on “Polymers at Phase Boundaries: from Fundamentals to Applications” (EUPOC 2027), to be held in Bertinoro (Italy), May 23–27, 2027.
EUPOC 2027 will offer a platform to discuss the main challenges facing this important research field, bringing together scientists, engineers, and students worldwide working on every aspect of polymers at phase boundaries, including interfaces, surfaces.
Those interested in polymer science will easily notice that polymers are often positioned at phase boundaries: polymer surfaces and thin films, polymer-liquid interfaces within polymer colloidal dispersions, polymer-polymer interfaces in immiscible polymer blends, interfaces of polymers with inorganic nano-objects and/or reinforcing fibers in composite materials, in membranes for separation technologies, in bonding of coatings in medical devices and polymer interfaces for electronic devices. Experimentally exploring and modeling the behavior of polymers at phase boundaries—i.e., their conformations, dynamics as well as their morphology—are essential for understanding the physical behavior of multiphase and dispersed systems and materials, wetting, adhesion and interface stability phenomena. The ability to describe polymers at interfaces allows control of interfacial and surface reactions, adsorption, thermal or charge transfer, and diffusion phenomena.
The conference will feature plenary lectures, oral communications, and poster presentations. Major addressed topics include:
- Polymer surfaces: design, adsorption, wetting, and adhesion phenomena
- Polymers as thin films and in foams
- Polymers at interfaces in dispersed media
- Polymers at interfaces between immiscible components: polymer blends, composites and coatings.
- Methods for the characterization of polymers at interfaces
- Modelling and simulation of polymers at phase boundaries and the thermodynamics of phase separation

Abstract
Those interested in contributing to the success of the congress with a presentation are invited to submit by March 15th, 2027, a one PDF page according to the template provided below.
The abstract should be uploaded on the AIM portal personal page (see instructions on how to register in the tab "Registration" just above this tab on the same page) specifying whether you wish to give an oral or a poster presentation on the first page of the abstract template. If you wish to submit multiple abstracts, please send them via email to eupoc@aim.it
Acceptance notifications will be sent by April 1st, 2027.
Accommodation and Travel Facilities
The conference will be held at the University Residential Center, in Bertinoro (FC), Italy where you can also book your accommodation which has to be made
